Why We Created Village Tasting
Burgundy is often described as one of the most fascinating wine regions in the world.It is also one of the most complex.
Many wine lovers quickly become familiar with famous names such as Chablis, Meursault, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée or Puligny-Montrachet. Yet very few have the opportunity to taste these appellations side by side and understand what makes each of them unique.
Over the years, we noticed that many visitors wanted a clearer overview of Burgundy as a whole.
Not just one village.
Not just one style of wine.
Not just a handful of famous labels.
They wanted to understand Burgundy in its entirety.
This is why we created Village Tasting.
Our objective was simple: to build a tasting that allows participants to explore Burgundy's 44 Village appellations in a single day.

Most Burgundy tastings focus on a few wines.
We chose a completely different approach.
Rather than concentrating on a small number of prestigious bottles, we wanted to create a panoramic view of Burgundy.
From Chablis in the north to the Mâconnais in the south, from the Côte de Beaune to the Côte de Nuits and the Côte Chalonnaise, this tasting offers a unique opportunity to compare the wines that have shaped Burgundy's reputation.
What fascinates us most is not simply the quality of the wines.
It is the diversity.
How can vineyards located only a few kilometres apart produce wines with such distinct personalities?
Why does Meursault differ from Puligny-Montrachet?
Why does Chambolle-Musigny taste different from Gevrey-Chambertin?
Village Tasting was designed to answer these questions through direct comparison.
When an appellation includes Premier Cru vineyards, we favor tasting a Premier Cru wine in order to reveal a more complete, nuanced and complex expression of the village.
These wines often provide greater depth and precision while remaining representative of the appellation itself.
When an appellation does not include Premier Cru vineyards, we select a representative Village wine.
This approach allows participants to discover all 44 appellations while enjoying a tasting experience of an exceptionally high level.
