Burgundy white wine tasting : Chardonnay class
Explore the richness of the terroirs: Chablis, Côte de Beaune, Mâconnais...
This tasting class invites you to explore the rich diversity of Burgundy white wines and their flagship grape variety, Chardonnay. For 2.5 to 3 hours, participants will discover the fundamentals of these wines, including key figures, wine-growing geography, AOCs (Appellations d'Origine Contrôlée), and the art of reading a wine label. Special attention will be given to the specific tasting methodology for white wines, through a three-step approach: visual, olfactory, and gustatory. The core of the experience lies in a blind tasting of ten carefully selected white wines. These ten appellations, ranging from Chablis to Pouilly-Fuissé, will illustrate the subtlety and complexity of Chardonnay across the five regions of Burgundy: Chablisien, Côte de Nuits (a rare white wine), Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise, and Mâconnais. The selection will highlight the diversity of aromas and balances that a single grape variety can offer, with a glimpse into six different vintages, including one village appellation, seven Premiers Crus, and two Grands Crus.
This sensory journey, offered by appointment for groups of two or more at a price of €125 per person, promises to enrich your understanding and appreciation of Bourgogne white wines.
