Private Burgundy pinot noir tasting: an introduction to oenology

Discover the secrets of red wines from the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, and Côte Chalonnaise.

The "Pinot Noir Tasting" class offers a personalized deep dive into Burgundy's red wines, focusing on its iconic grape varietal. This private experience begins with an introduction to the fundamentals of oenology and Burgundian viticulture, including key figures, vineyard geography, Appellations d'Origine Contrôlée (AOCs), and how to read wine labels.

Special attention is then given to the methodology of red wine tasting, broken down into three steps: visual examination, olfactory analysis, and gustatory evaluation.

The core of this class is the practical application, with a blind tasting of ten red wines from distinct estates, representative of the three main production areas: the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune, and the Côte Chalonnaise. The rigorous selection offers a journey through seven vintages and highlights the complexity of Premier Crus (eight wines) and Grand Crus (two wines). Participants will have the opportunity to discover renowned appellations such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Pommard, and many others.

This class, lasting 2.5 to 3 hours, is available by appointment for a minimum of two people (or more), at a rate of €145 per person.
